Disclosure
Affiliate disclosure
Intelligibberish is independent and reader-first. Some tool reviews include affiliate links. This page explains exactly how they work, so there is no guessing.
How affiliate links work
An affiliate link is a normal link with a tracking code attached. If you click one and later sign up or buy, the vendor pays us a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and the price is the same as if you had gone to the vendor directly. Those commissions help keep the site running without paywalls or reader donations.
Every affiliate link is labeled. On a review page it lives inside a box headed "Affiliate Disclosure," and the link itself is marked as sponsored. If a link is not marked, it is not an affiliate link.
They never change our ratings
This is the line that matters. A commission never buys a better rating, a softer criticism, or a place on a list. The green, yellow, and red ratings, the drawbacks, and the "who it is for" calls are written the same way whether a tool pays us or not. Where a tool has a real weakness, we say so on the same page that carries its link.
Our reviews often recommend free or open-source tools that pay us nothing, and sometimes rate a paying tool below one that does not. That is the point of doing it this way.
Open-source tools carry no affiliate link
Free and open-source tools do not have affiliate programs, and we do not attach anything to them. On those reviews you will find a plain link straight to the project and a note that says so. Listing them next to commercial options, with no money attached either way, is what keeps a comparison honest.
Links that are not live yet
Some reviews mention a program we plan to join but have not finished setting up. Until a real tracking link is in place, those pages use a plain link to the vendor with nothing attached, and the review page says the affiliate link is still pending. When a tracking link goes live, the disclosure box is updated in the same edit.
Independence, per site
Any affiliate accounts used here belong to Intelligibberish alone. We do not share tracking IDs or accounts with other sites, so a link here cannot be used to tie this site to any other.
