Get Tabby →Tabby is the answer for teams that cannot send code to a third party. It self-hosts, its core is Apache-2.0, and it runs on llama.cpp so it works with local models.
One honest caveat: the enterprise features live in an ee/ directory under a separate source-available license, so ‘fully open source’ is true of the core but not the whole product. For air-gapped or compliance-bound teams, it is still the strongest option.
The good
- Runs entirely on your own infrastructure
- Apache-2.0 core, great for privacy
- Built on llama.cpp
The catch
- The enterprise 'ee' directory is source-available, not fully open
- You run and maintain the server
- Completion quality depends on your model
Pricing
Free and open source to self-host. Enterprise modules are separately licensed.
